A brand-new connection across Merri Creek is now making it easier and safer for residents of Kalkallo and Donnybrook to get where they need to go.
Whether you’re heading to Donnybrook Station, local schools, parks, shops or community facilities, this new bridge makes walking and cycling a whole lot more convenient.

A fantastic project delivered through the collaboration of Hume City Council, Stockland, the City of Whittlesea and the Victorian Government, through the GAIC Building New Communities Fund.
The $1.6 million Toyon Road Pedestrian Bridge in Kalkallo and Cloverton It directly connects local neighborhoods to Donnybrook Station, schools, and the Cloverton provides a traffic-free walking and cycling link over Merri Creek. town centre, removing a previous 1-kilometer detour.
- Location: Merri Creek, crossing between Kalkallo and Cloverton (Melbourne’s northern corridor)
- Cost & Funding: $1.6 million total, backed by Stockland, Hume City Council, City of Whittlesea, and a $1.2 million Victorian State Government grant.
- Design & Structure: Features a 90-metre total length combining a 27-metre LONGREACH™ truss span with BALMORAL™ boardwalk approaches built by FORGE.
- Environment: Carefully engineered to protect local Growling Grass Frog habitats and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung cultural heritage landscapes.
